  1. Create your Blackboard Login.

    Within 2-3 days of making a payment, you will be able to create your Blackboard account. Visit my.niagaracollege.ca and click on “Set Your Password”. Complete the steps and you will have your user ID, password and personal Niagara College e-mail address. Keep a record of this as you will use this information many times throughout your Niagara College career.

  2. Print off your Class Schedule.

    Don’t forget to print off your class schedule before your first day of classes. Please note that the room assignments are subject to change up to two weeks after classes have started..

    To access your class schedule, follow these steps:

    1. Go to my.niagaracollege.ca
    2. Enter your Blackboard Username and Password
    3. Select  “my apps”
    4. Select “my student records” (near the bottom of the page)
    5. Select “View my class schedule” (in the top left corner)
  3. Get involved…sign up for your Co-Curricular Record (CCR)!

    As a student, every time you get involved in on or off campus College related activities, you can track it on your Co-Curricular Record (CCR). Getting involved can be classified as; volunteering on or off campus, attending a personal/professional development seminar or workshop, joining a club, participating in a sports team, global development, or being involved in any co-curricular activities.

    The Co-Curricular Record (CCR) is an official Niagara College certificate designed to recognize student engagement, leadership, and co-curricular activities outside of the classroom. You build and maintain your CCR through the website: getinvolved.NiagaraCollege.ca. Here you can enter valid activities, and track your involvement. Your CCR can enhance your resume and highlight your competitive advantage to future employers.

    How to sign-up for CCR:

    1. Login using your Blackboard Username and Password at getinvolved.NiagaraCollege.ca
    2. Under the heading ‘Organizations’ please join ‘Centre for Student Engagement and Leadership’ for more information regarding Orientation and upcoming events.
  4. Connect with an E-Mentor.

    We know you are probably filled with many questions about your new role as a postsecondary student! To help
    you prepare, you have been assigned an E-Mentor who will answer any questions you have before you arrive
    in May. You will receive an e-mail from your E-Mentor a few weeks before Orientation, but if you have any
    questions before then, you can email peermentoring@niagaracollege.ca.

    Your E-Mentor will also encourage you to register for your own Peer Mentor. Peer Mentors are Senior Students in the same, or a similar program as you that are here to make sure your entire first year is not only fun and engaging but successful too! For more information you can visit the Peer Mentoring organization on the Get Involved portal.

  5. Submit a photo in advance for your Student ID Card

    Want to avoid standing in lines on Orientation Day? Submit your photo in advance at niagaracollege.ca/studentcard. Be sure to submit your best smile, in colour, and facing forward. Only photos that adhere to our guidelines will be accepted (refer to the link above for more info). Online photo submission opens on April 2, 2016 and all pre-submitted cards will be available for pick up at your campus InfoCentre as early as April 22, 2016. All cards will be available on Orientation Day as well.

    Your Niagara College Student ID Card is your pass to the world of services at NC. It will provide you with access to the gym, photocopying and printing services, computer lab services and it’s also your regional bus pass.

  6. Financial Aid – Attention students receiving OSAP!

    For information on funding amounts and when you will receive your funds, log onto the OSAP website using your OAN number and password. Loan documents are no longer released to students. Funds will be directly deposited into your bank account after your Master Student Financial Assistance Agreement has been submitted to a postal outlet and all other supporting documentation has been provided.

  7. Bus Pass, Parking Permits, and Textbooks!

    Bus Pass

    If you are a full-time student, you will be granted a UPass which gives you unlimited access to transit services in Welland, St. Catharines, Thorold, and Niagara Falls. UPass stickers for your student photo ID card will be distributed by the SAC Office starting May 9, 2016.

    Until May 13, 2016, you will be able to ride the bus for free as long as you show your student ID card or your class schedule!

    Parking Permits

    Make sure you register for your parking permit through your Blackboard account under “My Apps”. Parking permits can be picked up in the Parking Office (L22) at the Welland campus or the Security Office (N102) at the NOTL campus at any time.     Textbooks

    Textbooks can be picked up once you have created your schedule through Blackboard! There is a Campus store located at both the Welland and Niagara-on-the-Lake campuses. If you bring a copy of your class schedule, the Campus Store staff will gladly assist you in locating your textbooks.

  8. Interested in Renting a Locker?

    Lockers are available to rent throughout the campus. To learn more or to register for a locker, please visit niagaracollege.ca/lockers.

  9. Select your Health/Dental Plan.

    As an NC Student, you will have a choice between three plans: a Balanced Plan, an Enhanced Extended Healthcare/Vision Plan, or an Enhanced Dental/Vision Plan.

    For more sign up details, please visit wespeakstudent.com. The opt-out/change your plan option will begin May 2, 2016 and the deadline is May 27, 2016.
